26 Degrees named one of Australia's best places to work

The Australian has recognised 26 Degrees as one of the Top 10 Best Places to Work in the medium-sized company category.

26 Degrees is extremely honoured to be recognised by The Australian & WorkL as one of the Top 10 Best Places to Work in Australia in the medium-sized company category. Additionally, 26 Degrees has also been named Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Employees, highlighting the continued commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive and empowering culture.

These prestigious awards, based on data from over 50,000 Australian employees, shine a light on organisations that go beyond policy to build workplaces where people genuinely thrive. As The Australian noted, these awards reflect the day-to-day experiences, wellbeing, and ambition of the people within these companies.

“This recognition is a testament to the energy, care and ambition our people bring every day,” said Gavin White, Group CEO of 26 Degrees. “At 26 Degrees, we’ve created an inclusive culture where people feel challenged and supported to grow.”

Recognition That’s Backed by Data

The Australian Best Places to Work awards, powered by employee experience platform WorkL, are among the most credible benchmarks of workplace culture in the country. Unlike marketing-driven awards, this recognition is based entirely on anonymous employee feedback, measured against WorkL’s rigorous six-pillar framework: reward and recognition, information sharing, empowerment, wellbeing, instilling pride, and job satisfaction.

WorkL gather data from over 12,500 Australian organisations and global benchmarks and to curate a list of organisations that fit their six-pillar framework and actually be eligible for such an award. Only companies with a minimum engagement score of 70% are considered.

A People-First Culture at Our Core

26 Degrees has long believed that its greatest strength lies in its people and the culture that has been created in the organisation. This team-first mindset has shaped every aspect of the firm’s evolution, from hiring and leadership, to business growth and even office design.

The new Sydney headquarters was created to support collaboration, focus, and wellbeing, featuring a variety of work zones, meeting hubs, and a dedicated wellness and leisure floor that sets it apart from traditional workplaces.

Despite 26 Degrees requiring employees to work onsite at least two days per week, this innovative office environment has significantly increased voluntary in-office attendance. Cassandra White, Director of People & Culture comments, “The new space has created an environment where employees genuinely want to come in, connect, and collaborate. They feel highly motivated, more engaged, and part of a community.”

This recognition by The Australian serves as powerful validation of what 26 Degrees has intentionally built – a workplace that balances ambition with enjoyment, where employees feel supported to grow, succeed, and thrive.
